GENESIS ENERGY is one of the foremost climate impact investors, asset managers, and energy infrastructure developers in Africa with a proven track record of developing, implementing, financing, constructing, and operating independent power plants across several countries on the Continent, spanning over two (2) decades, through the deployment of fast-track high-quality energy solutions, leveraging technologies such as gas-fired plants, solar PV, Battery Energy Storage System (“BESS”), and hybrid technologies for its power projects across Africa with over 480MW capacities in operations, construction, and advanced implementations and over 4.5GW of clean energy projects pipeline.

Our leadership team combines over two decades of experience in project development, financing, and infrastructure delivery, ensuring that Genesis remains at the forefront of Africa’s energy transition.

Akin II Omoboriowo

Chairman and CEO

Akinwole II Omoboriowo is a visionary energy leader with over 20 years of experience in infrastructure development, strategic management, and regulatory policy.

He holds an Executive MBA from Quantic Business School (USA) and executive education credentials from Imperial College Business School and Oxford’s Saïd Business School.

A Fellow of the Certified Board of Administrators of Nigeria and the Institute of Management Consultants, he has received several awards, including the Vanguard Distinguished Nigerian of Merit Award.

As Chairman and CEO of Genesis Energy Holdings, he drives innovative energy solutions across Africa and serves on advisory boards for Oxford University, Shell Foundation, and the African Energy Chamber.

Engr. Simon Shaibu

Executive Vice President, Technical Services Directorate

Simon Shaibu is the Executive Vice President, Technical Services at Genesis Energy, where he oversees engineering design, project delivery, and plant operations across the Group’s portfolio.

With extensive experience in power systems, plant optimization, and infrastructure commissioning, he ensures operational reliability, technical excellence, and safety across all assets.

Simon is widely respected for his results-driven approach, strategic execution, and technical leadership in delivering innovative and sustainable energy projects across Africa.

Melissa F. Sikwila

Executive Vice President, Project Development & Investments

Melissa Sikwila is a dual-qualified solicitor and senior executive leading Project Development & Investments at Genesis Energy Holdings.

She manages the Group’s expansion, capital formation, and project finance across a 4.5GW pipeline in Africa.

A British-trained lawyer with experience in trade finance, M&A, and infrastructure law, she has advised on complex cross-border transactions exceeding $500 million.

A global speaker and climate advocate, Melissa has featured at COP, Africa Energy Forum, and Powering Africa Summit.

She holds multiple qualifications from Brunel University, LSE, Imperial College, and the University of Cape Town and is pursuing executive education at Harvard Business School.

Ebenezer Olusesi

Executive Vice President, Finance & Administration

Ebenezer Olusesi is the Executive Vice President, Finance & Administration at Genesis Energy.

With extensive experience in treasury, audit, and investment management, he provides strategic financial leadership to ensure robust governance and sustainable growth.

Ebenezer is skilled in financial planning, capital allocation, and performance optimization, combining technical expertise with sound business judgment.

A results-oriented finance leader, he continues to strengthen Genesis Energy’s financial systems and supports the company’s mission to deliver long-term value through efficient and transparent financial management.

Vivian Olloh

Snr Vice President Corporate Finance & MD CDEO

Vivian Olloh is the Managing Director of the Corporate Development and Executive Office (CDEO) and Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance at Genesis Energy. 

She leads the Group’s capital agenda across both corporate and project finance, and drives growth through M&A, the cultivation of strategic equity partners across Genesis Group’s platform companies in grid, renewables, and gas/flexible assets, and expansion into new frontier markets. 

She also provides executive oversight of Procurement & Commercial.
Over a 20-year career, she has structured and executed more than US$4 billion in project and structured finance transactions across Nigeria’s Oil & Gas, Power, Infrastructure, and Financial Services sectors. 

Her work has shaped some of the market’s defining deals, including the Oando Energy Resources US$1.69bn acquisition of ConocoPhillips’ Nigerian upstream assets, the Azura-Edo 459MW IPP, the Helios-Vitol acquisition of Oando’s downstream business, the First Hydrocarbon Nigeria reserves-based lending facility for OML 26, and the landmark sale of a majority stake in Interswitch — transactions that have collectively earned recognition from EMEA Finance, IJ Global, African Investor, and the African Bank Awards.
 
Before Genesis Energy, Vivian was Associate Director and Head of Investment Banking at Nova Bank, where she built the investment banking subsidiary from the ground up and secured over ₦100 billion in debt capital market transactions. She previously led the Debt Solutions Unit at FSDH Capital and spent more than a decade at FCMB Group in senior roles spanning Oil & Gas project finance, strategy, and international banking. 

She began her career as a Senior Associate Auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Vivian holds an Executive Master of Management in Energy from BI Norwegian Business School (Norway) and IFP School (France), a Certificate in Commodity Trading and Hedging from the JP Morgan Centre at the University of Colorado – USA, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Madonna University, Nigeria. 

She is a Chartered Accountant (ICAN), a SEC-Sponsored Individual, and co-author of the CBN Bankers’ Committee paper 
.

Since 2005, GENESIS ENERGY  has been developing and financing clean energy projects with a capacity of up to 3GW across Africa to date. Our dream is to provide lighting for children to do their homework, provide power for entrepreneurs to run their operations and ensure that governments have the energy to drive their nations forward.
